Polarity Series This series of work links directly to my interest in opposites, in this case, opposte sides of the world. In 2005, I took images of seascapes in South Island, New Zealand, (New Zealand is the nearest landmass opposte to the UK). I printed the images on to acetate and took them, fixed to a pole, into the landscape near my home in Buckinghamshire. I then rephotographed them so the English landscape linked to New Zealand in the new images. The images are opposite in both location and weather, summer in New Zealand and winter in England. My intention is to encourage the viewer to reflect on other locations in the world, as in How Are You Today.... |
